An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction but we pay it anyway.
We offer Courtesy Pay on our checking accounts to cover overdrafts from checks and ACH transactions using your checking account. We will charge you a fee of $33.00 each time we pay an overdraft fee, there is no limit to the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.
We do not authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions. You must complete the Opt-in Form if you want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions.
Courtesy Pay is available to members 18 and over whose loans and accounts are current and in good standing. We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. You will need to repay this total amount for the privilege extended to you by depositing an amount of equal or greater value to bring your account balance positive within 30 days of being overdrawn. Or you will need to have a repayment plan approved by the credit union. The Courtesy Pay limit is established by the credit union.
Miami Firefighters FCU does not encourage overdrafts. The purpose of Courtesy Pay is to help prevent overdrafts if unforeseen problems arise.
There are no applications to complete; you will be automatically enrolled in Courtesy Pay after your checking account has been open for 60 days and remains in good standing.
Build your relationship with Miami Firefighters FCU. With our Member Rewards program the more you use your credit union for loans, checking and savings accounts, the more your credit union prospers and grows and this means more and better services and pricing for you.
