Miami Firefighters Federal Credit Union (“MFFCU,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Mobile Privacy Notice explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use our mobile banking application (“App”).
The App helps members manage finances on the go, including viewing accounts and transactions, transferring funds, paying bills, depositing checks, managing cards, locating branches and ATMs, and receiving alerts.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
We may collect personal information you provide directly or through your financial institution, including:
- Name
- Address
- Email address
- Phone number
- User IDs
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
- Payment and transaction history
The App may also access device images or videos when using features such as mobile check deposit or QR code payments, and device contacts when using peer-to-peer payment services such as Zelle®.
Information Collected Automatically
We and our service providers may automatically collect information about your device and how you interact with the App, including:
- Device type and operating system
- IP address
- Browser type
- Mobile carrier information
- Usage activity and navigation data
- Cookies and similar technologies
- General location information
If enabled on your device, location services may be used for fraud prevention and to help locate nearby branches and ATMs.
Information from Third Parties
We may receive information from identity verification services, consumer reporting agencies, and credit bureaus in order to provide certain financial services.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain your account
- Process transactions and requested services
- Improve the App and user experience
- Send account alerts and service notifications
- Prevent fraud and unauthorized activity
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
- Conduct internal audits and security monitoring
- Communicate promotional offers and surveys
We may also create aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.
Sharing of Information

- With service providers that support App operations

This Privacy Notice does not apply to third-party websites or services linked through the App.
Your Choices
You may:
- Update or correct your information through your financial institution
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link provided
- Disable SMS notifications by unlinking your mobile number
- Disable location tracking through your device settings
Please note that disabling certain permissions may limit App functionality.
Data Security and Retention
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Financial institutions are required by law to retain certain records. Your information may be retained for five to ten years, depending on applicable legal and business requirements.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
Updates to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be updated periodically. Any material changes will become effective after notice is provided through the App or other appropriate methods.
